    Corus Cogifer provide turnouts for Manchester Metrolink extension

    Corus Cogifer have supplied the first turnouts for the extension to the Manchester Metrolink system.

    The project which Corus Cogifer won early in 2009 comprises:                               

    • 40 No BV8 turnouts in CEN56 vertical rail section on timber bearers
    • 34 No BS80A SV40 turnouts for the new depot at Trafford Bar
    • 2 No BS80A CV40 turnouts for Media City 
    • 12 No Ri59N turnouts and crossovers for various in-street locations around the network

    The first turnouts to be supplied were for the remodelling at Cornbrook station to cater for the shuttle link to Media City. The intensive delivery programme continues throughout the rest of 2009 and 2010.
